Requirements University Graduate Applicants should preferably have an MSc degree in (Chemical) Engineering. Other Engineering disciplines as Mechanical Engineering (Process & Energy specialisations) or Biochemical Engineering may also apply. We are especially looking for trainees with an open, creative mind and a critical attitude: trainees with ambition in innovative design developments. Delft University of Technology is a bi-lingual organisation. Good command of the English language (written and oral) is essential. Trainees will be recruited from the top 25 % of the student population.
Organization Delft University of Technology PDEng design programme Process & Equipment Design Delft University of Technology is a multifaceted institution offering education and carrying out research within the technical sciences at an internationally recognized level. Education, research and designs are strongly oriented towards applicability. TU Delft develops technologies for future generations, focusing on sustainability, safety and economic vitality. At TU Delft we work in an environment where technical sciences and society converge. TU Delft comprises eight faculties, unique laboratories, research institutes and schools.
The programme trains and educates trainees to become a qualified designer, capable of designing “fit for purpose” and “first of its kind” products, processes and equipment. Throughout the programme, the PDEng trainee is (besides deepening and broadening knowledge) trained in teamwork, in multi-disciplinary problem-solving, and in project management. PDEng trainees will gain expertise in process development, conceptual design and engineering activities. The PDEng design programme is a joint initiative of and sponsored by the Dutch chemical industry and the Dutch government.
